Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy

A surgical procedure where the uterus is removed with or without ovaries per vagina, guided by an laparoscopic camera through 3 small incisions (5 mm).

Advantages

  • This is available in almost all women who have indicated the removel of the uterus (with or without ovaries).
  • The time of recovery and disability was reduced by half compared with open surgery for hysterectomy.
  • The postoperative recovery is faster than the open approach.
  • There is a decrease in postoperative pain using the laparoscopic approach.
  • It is a surgery where the scar is almost nonexistent for the minimum size of the incisions.
  • Many cases can be performed on an outpatient basis (without hospitalization).
